On the last day of Exploring Valencia, I found out there are many museums to visit for free close to the contemporary art museum.
Let’s start with the exploration!
Museum of Fine Arts Center of Carmen
Many of the areas were inspired by human rights, especially feminism, cartoons, and all sorts of contemporary art. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00.
The building declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1983, is an architectural complex as varied as its cultural offerings. You can walk in a Gothic cloister and a Renaissance cloister, these elements coexisting with the remains of an Islamic house.

After 2 hours of exploration around contemporary art, I had lunch at a good restaurant, it’s the first one I’ve found that offers you a Menu of 18 euros with first, second and dessert, the food is very tasty and the local is cosy with Spanish style, the restaurant El Forcat is placed near to Torres de Serranos and the Museo del Corpus.
Museum of El Corpus – Casa de las Rocas
The construction of the House of the Rocks dates back to the 15th century, taking place in a period between June 8, 1435 and April 8, 1447. The first known agreement in this regard corresponds to July 8, 1435, the date in which the city deliberated and approved the construction of a house, next to the Portal dels Serrans, between wall and wall, that is, between the oldest and the modern one from 1356, ordered to be built by Pere el Cerimonios, so that It served as shelter for the cars and other supplies that accompanied the Corpus Christi procession.
You can also visit for free.
I forgot to mention where I drink Agua de Valencia, one of the best places to have it is in this cafe called: Cafe de las Horas, the style is medieval, big chandeliers and paintings inside, I went with an English roomie, we had fun. Pay attention, the water is quite strong (I’m not revealing what’s inside, you will have to figure it out haha).
That’s all for this trip, I returned to Valencia in October as I had the celebration for my confirmation!
See you soon! Y que viva La Horchata! 🥤
